Brainstorm machine by students
In 1 day, a small team of design students at National Taipei University of Technology created their own brainstorm machine to help them generate ideas quickly. According to good brainstorm methodology, the bot goes through divergence (generating ideas) and convergence (narrowing down ideas). Their challenge was to beat universal Ai bots. They managed to do so, as the universal bots did not offer convergence. With universal bots, more and more ideas came in, showing that these bots do not know the scientific process of brainstorming. The student’s bot can brainstorm on any field of data that is provided. This saves the students a tremendous amount of time, exploring creative options.
Other student teams created bots to make score cards to evaluate concepts quickly based on scientific literature available in a particular field. Another team created a material selector that helps with suggesting material options for a design. One other team created a design thinking tool offering methodologies to apply in the design process depending on the challenge. All these bots help the students to speed up their design process and were created by the students themselves in 1 day with our help.
